Biography

WHEN DID YOU START COACHING AT CCFH?
Fall of 2020

WHY/HOW DID YOU GET INTO FITNESS?
I have been an athlete my entire life playing sports from elementary school through college, mainly tennis and soccer, then began weightlifting in college. I also began running Spartan Races in 2015 and have completed dozens of races up and down the east coast through 2019. Functional Fitness was something mentioned to me by multiple people through college and after, but it was nothing I considered doing until a good friend talked me into it and I have been hooked since I started.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A TRAINER?
I became a coach and trainer to improve people’s quality of life through functional strengthening and help people understand pain and how their body reacts to injury.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING(S) TO DO IN THE GYM?
My favorite thing to do in the gym is Olympic lifting. The movements are so technical and require a lot of time and attention to detail and proper lifting sequence. There is always room to improve the quality of these movements.

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR REST DAYS?
I spend my rest days giving my body a true break from high impact or heavy activities. I usually will go for a walk, do some stretching or mobility work and let my body recover for the next training day.

WHAT MAKES YOU THE HAPPIEST WHEN WORKING WITH OUR MEMBERS?
I am the happiest when I help a member achieve a goal whether it is increasing weight that they have been reluctant to attempt or helping them learn an entirely new movement.
